THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH (DOC)
The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Laguna Woods Village is constantly seeking new ways to serve the community.
A bit over 50 years ago the church was born and through the years has been a positive influence for personal and spiritual growth. The earliest stated principles for ministry of Disciple of Christ, denomination continues to be our guide: “In faith, unity; in opinions and methods, liberty; in all things, charity”.
Our purpose is to find unfilled needs and fill them; to find hurts and minister to them; to find the lonely and befriend them; to find those without a church home and invite them to a new life in Christ.
We have no creed but Christ; and confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the sole requirement for membership. The church is administered democratically by an Executive Board elected from and by the membership. The “Priesthood of all believers” is an important concept in the Christian Church because it gives our members a place of dignity and many opportunities for responsible leadership and service.

Patrick Kennedy is the Chairperson of the Music Department at First Christian Church.
He has been a member of the First Christian Church since it’s beginning. He is talented and directs and
provides the music and has done his own renditions of different popular Christian Songs.
The music is up-beat and inspirational. Two people from Chapman University are the soloists
for the church. Chapman University has supplied a lot of talent for us through their students
“I have attended First Christian church my entire life and I am now 98 years old. The church is a pleasure and a
great sense of comfort in my life. The church members are friendly and like a family that I miss
right now due to our pandemic, but I am looking forward to seeing them again as soon as this is over.”

SO LET’S BE A FAMILY BOUND BY GOD’S LOVE
WITH BLESSINGS TO SHARE FROM OUR FATHER ABOVE!
